Job Description:
Under the direction of the Supervisor of Borrower Counseling, the Borrower Information Specialist is responsible for advising borrowers of their repayment options with the objective of preventing delinquency which may lead to default. Execute borrower contact in support of custom communication campaigns that are focused on information dissemination and repayment education. The communication campaigns are targeted towards borrowers who meet specific conditions and/or support ASA's industry partners. Within a call center environment, provide telephone counseling and written responses to successfully resolve borrower concerns.
Minimum 1-2 years experience in a high volume call center environment; financial services or higher education industry experience a plus. Financial services or higher education industry experience a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong time management and organization skills are critical. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Understanding of student regulations and industry a plus. Proficiency in MS Office applications; experience with Access a plus. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
