Job Description:
Under the direction of the Supervisor of Repayment Assistance, the Repayment Counselor is responsible for resolving loans for borrowers in delinquency and advising borrowers of their long-term repayment options within regulatory requirements. Work with lenders and servicers to reconcile default aversion assistance requests. Within a call center environment, provide telephone counseling and written responses to successfully resolve borrower concerns.
Minimum 1-2 years experience in a high volume call center environment; financial services or higher education industry experience a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Experience with dispute resolution or negotiation desired. Understanding of student loan regulations and industry a plus. Spanish a plus. Proficiency in MS Office applications. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
