Principal Systems Engineer

Job Description:

The Principal Systems Engineer will be primarily responsible for the design and implementation of systems to manage the monitoring and capacity planning of servers, storage, networks, middleware and VMware. The job entails design and hands on implementation of hardware and software on a Windows/Linux platform in order to maintain and improve upon the firm's systems availability. The Principal Systems Engineer will work in conjunction with the Software and Data Architecture teams to develop and implement solutions to solve business needs.

12+ years IT experience with 5+ years of proven ability and experience in developing and managing systems monitoring solutions. 5+ years of engineering, build and supporting monitoring systems. Proven track record of progressive technology leadership. Proven, solid decision making in relation to systems engineering and design. Proven ability in leading project teams implementing mission critical systems. Proven ability to create process and procedure to improve an IT organization. Prior experience with Compuware strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
